Give ear to my words, O Lord. Please consider this prayer from my troubled heart. Hearken to the voice of my soul’s cry, my King and my God. It is to You alone that I pray and seek Your Love and Mercy. For who do I have in Heaven, but it is You. And there is none upon earth I desire, but it is You. My strength and my heart has failed; but You are the Strength of my Heart and You are my Inheritance forever.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer to You and my heart will look Up. Create in me a pure heart O Lord and renew my distressed spirit within me. My soul is among lions and I lie among them whose angry spirit is set on fire. Their teeth are spears and arrows and their tongues are like a sharp sword.
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, who Speaks peace into my heart. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? My soul finds rest in God alone. He alone is my Rock and my Salvation. He is my Fortress. I will never be shaken. My heart is fixed, O God. My Heart is Fixed.
